I thought this would be great experience and practice running a exhibition before our Final major project exhibitions and it really would be silly to miss out on . I have chosen my "emotive dreams" series to exhibit because its a finished polished piece of work that I feel represents me as a photographer. Out of the series of 6 I have chosen to only exhibit 5 because I think odd numbers always look better and i have eliminated the weakest (technically)image of the series . It still makes perfect sense without the 6th image ,im excited to get it started .
Iv sent off for my images to both be printed and mounted. I'm usually a strong believer in taking the time to mount or frame my own work but in this case with our hand ins and limited time iv paid for them to be done professionally . I have paid for my 5 prints to be printed 20x16 inch lustre paper and mounted on 2mm white card. If its mounted professionally it is less likely to peel or alter because likeliness is it will be machine and not hand done . Plus because the exhibition is up for a whole mouth I think its important it maintains a professional aesthetic throughout .
Here are the five images I have chosen .
We have also chosen to do an artists write up that are all matching .Here is mine . Iv tried to keep it short and sweet but with an incite to the theory behind the images and a glimpse of me as a photographer .
We have also decided to have a separate name card with any additional contact information on such as phone numbers and email addresses. It was agreed to have a picture of ourselves on too which I find quite uncomfortable but its a group effort so I have to play into the majority . so here is my Name card .
And last but not least I thought id include the group poster that hopefully we will start to share digitally and print and put up in places of interest, I really looking forward to the opening date but unfortunately its after the hand in for this project so I wont be able to include it in this reflective blog .
