Part B - Experimenting in the studio

As apart of the development I have challenged myself with  perfecting the use of my own equipment I have decided to take my camera into the university studios to experiment. I haven't used the studio since we first stared University and we had a session on how to use the equipment, Its overdue that I refresh my memory and try again. I decided to go into the studio with James Owen, Tuesday Amber and Becky Fernley who all felt the same as me, needing a refresher. I was actually surprised at how much we could all remember and how the positive the session turned out to be . I now after just experimenting feel loads more confident that I am capable to take a client into a studio and control the environment around me . As you can see by the images I have uploaded below that we had placed a subject to photograph in the middle of the backdrop then just moved the lights around adding and taking away lights and just looked at the out come. We experimented with back lighting out subject to get the desired Shallotte look , One side lighting to create shadow on the subjects face and also adding more than on person into the frame to see how difficult light two or more people could be. Conducting these experiments has also made me realise how much I enjoy studio work and challenging myself with different lighting scenarios. I aim to not leave it as long next time for a refresher and start using the studios more regularly .
