Yesterday we were given our new brief, To create a Personal
development Plan (PDP) . If I’m honest
at first I wasn’t very inspired by the potential of this brief. I can’t help
but feel because we are now third years this for most of us is going to be our
last year that we have full creative control and I was hoping that this year
was going to be a great opportunity to churn out loads of top notch imagery .
This is a 12 week brief giving us all plenty of time to construct the elements
of our plans we want to do. It wasn’t until I actually started to write my plan
that I got excited about the brief , It’s a great excuse to iron out the
creases in my practice and get myself up to the standard I desire to be. As a
photographer I think there are loads and loads of areas to personally develop,
with technology developing at the pace it is, I find it easy to fall behind,
both technically and my theories too. I haven’t even branched into the social
media side of advertising myself as a photographer ( im not sure I fully want
too) but that is a possible idea and there is a lot to do and little time before we
graduate. We also have two major projects creeping up that will be extremely
consuming so this is a great opportunity to confront some issues face to face
and tackle them .
