As I have mentioned in my
previous post one thing that struck me about our personal development plan
presentations were that everybody was reaching for the same generic goals. The
three main ones were Improve Photoshop skills, work with studio lighting more
and reading more books. How boring for a set of level 6 students on a creative
course to all be doing the same thing. Yawn fest! Also I have found with my
development plan that the elements to it are almost everlasting. Everybody can
always be developing there Photoshop skills because it’s a changing piece of
software with new editions coming out almost annually. I have an opportunity in
the remaining few weeks to concentrate my time on something I can really find useful
for the upcoming months. I’ve got the rest of my photographic career to be
developing on all the genetic things so I have decided to re write my personal
development plan be more pacific to my needs at the moment . I think I also
want to limit myself to maybe 2 or 3 development areas rather than 4 or 5 so
that I can really engage with the development at hand . Instead of just writing
the first weaknesses that come to mind this time I’m really going to think
about what’s is going to help me both short term and long term. Watch this
space…….
